| NH center to hold meteor shower event - Boston Globe Posted: 08 Aug 2010 05:27 AM PDT CONCORD, N.H.—New Hampshire's McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center is hosting an event Thursday to mark the viewing of the Perseid meteor shower. The center says the Perseid meteor shower is the most prominent meteor shower of the summer. They're calling the event "Perseids and Pizza Star Party." It's from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Visitors will discover how meteor shower phenomena occur, what the constellation of Perseus represents, and where it lies in the night sky.
